Egg Carton Art

This is my egg carton art. This week I made a peacock. This week I started to get sick and a headache and a bit dizzy and I also got really cold. So just because I was sick doesn't mean I still can't create one. I know that mum has always wanted a peacock but dad will not let her get one because they are too loud. But I agree with mum they are soo pretty though. Especially the male peacocks. So I made mum a peacock. I really enjoyed making the peacock. When I finished my egg carton art I showed mum she said that she loved it.

Matariki work

This is my Matariki work. We had to find out if the sentence is true or false. I think Matariki is very interesting. I learned that there are not actually just seven stars there are actually nine stars. The reason why there are actually nine is that there are also the mum and dad up there as well. I think that I got most of them all right because I concentrated and read things slowly and carefully.

Whetu Challenge

Whetu Challenge - Paper Planes

Today our challenge was to design an accurate paper plane. We were given a draft piece of paper to trial
and a good piece to use once we had tested the accuracy of it.

Before we started I thought this challenge was going to be really hard because I did not know how to make a paper plane I think that I have made a paper plane but I forgot how the steps went. But luckily there were instructions on how to make a paper plane.

I decided to use the design of putting a couple of flowers and a couple of butterflies to make the plane a bit more prettier than just a plain white piece of paper that got folded into a paper plane. I am very proud of what I have achieved. I think that I did a pretty good job of coloring in and drawing some patterns on the plane. I also think that the more tighter you fold it the more accurate the plane will fly.

The hardest part was actually trying to get into the (Hanger) because the hanger was actually really small and my plane kept on doing loops.

During our competition time, I don't know my score. but I do know that I did not get it into the hanger. But I will try to do a different plane.

maths challenge

This is my maths challenge I worked with Alyssa. The maths challenge was about a missing pencil case. I think that I worked really well with Alyssa. We think that the thief is (ruby). I personally think that this mystery was a bit harder than last week's maths mystery. But it was still fun to start and finish.

Sick Sentences

This is my sick sentences. I enjoyed writing about the snail. I think that my sick sentences are a supernova because I cannot add any more than what I have done on this slide. I really enjoy the new idea that the teachers came up with us all writing a story about the snail. This is how my story went...

Delicious. That was simply delicious. She very rarely came across a strawberry, but whenever she did she always made the most of it. Chewing through the sweet, juicy flesh, she savored every mouthful. Now, though, she was full, and slowly eased herself (shell and all) out of the hole she had made in the side of the strawberry. It was time to explore another part of the garden…She slowly climbed up a tree. What could it be? It was a….  Mandarin tree. She found a juicy and sweet mandarin. She started to enjoy every juicy mouthful. She had a very orange day.

Synthesis eggs!!!

This is my Synthesis eggs. I think that this is a supernova because I can not add anything more than what I have done already. I think that white dolphins were really interesting. The best fact that I learned was
A popular site off Australia’s east coast, Migaloo is the world’s first documented all-white humpback whale. Aboriginal elders gave him the name, which means “white fella” in their language. Here are some facts about this popular pale whale.
I had so much fun learning about new things. I think that this one about dolphins was my favourite one so far.

The Pancake Problem

This is my Week 9 maths challenge. This weeks one was about (The Pancake Problem) I worked with Taylor. Taylor and I think that the answer is Seb. There were some really tricky ones and some not so tricky ones. It was really fun. I think that Taylor and I did get the answer right because we went through the answers very carefully and made shaw that we don't make any mistakes. There were so many names to cross off. But we got there in the end. I hope that we get in the draw.

Sick Sentences

This is my sick sentences. This one was about an owl watching a wasp fly through the wind. I liked doing this because my favourite animal is owls. We also used to have a few hives full of bees at home. I really enjoy doing sick sentences. I like seeing what the new picture is for next week. That's good because now I have something to look forward to on Mondays. I think I got this on my blog quicker than usual. Because all of the teachers decided that there should not be any TTRS because some people don't know when to stop. I think that was a good idea because that is not your must-dos that is your may-dos. Which is the right thing to do because it is good that you do your priorities. I also did a good background when I finished my Sick Sentences. Because I wanted to catch the eyes of the audience.

Word of the week!!!!!

Word Of The Week

This is my word of the week
This weeks one is (Luminous) I think that Luminous means when a bit of sun or something shiny shines on something and it will gleam. That is what I think about when I think about luminous.

I had so much fun making and finding out what luminous means.
I also tried to catch the audiences eye by changing the colour of the background. I also tried to make the word (luminous) stand out.
I tried to challenge myself to see what my skills were on Google Drawings. So I actually found out how to make a reflection with the words.
So I did that to the word (Luminous. I think that it looks really good. Since I pushed my self I would rate this a (Supernova.

The word of the week!!!

This is my word of the week. the word for this week is...
(Cantankerous. I thought that this word would mean something very confusing but it just means that you are angry. This reminded me of the zones of regulation. That where I got my sentence from. It's ok to be cantankerous but it's not ok to stay cantankerous. I think that I did a good job. I really enjoy finding out the meanings of things.

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Today for our Whetu Challenge we worked in a group to build a tower out of newspaper, 2 straws, and sellotape. We needed to make our tower strong enough to hold a tennis ball and be able to stand alone (not leaning on anything or needing support).

Today I worked with Carlee and Chole. We all came up with a great idea for our tennis ball to balance.

At first, we had trouble with what our design would like and how strong we wanted our base to be and how much resources we had and how are we going to use them.

The easiest thing was probably rolling up the newspaper not too tight and not to lose.

The best part of our tower was at the top because we had a really good job to make the ball balanced at the top.

Our tower looked a bit like rolled-up paper with a nice and secure finish at the top.
In the end, our tower looked really good as well as the ball stayed there. It wasn't really how I planned it but this one was even better

Google Driver's Licence Class C

This is my Google Driver's Licence Class C. This was really fun to do. When I got closer to the end it got harder and harder. I thought that is would have taken me forever. But then when I finished it didn't take long at all. I am very proud of what I have achieved.

maths challenge

Carlee and I did the maths challenge together. The Mystery was really fun. I think that we work really well together. The maths wasn't too hard and not to easy. Our answer is Captin Steve. I think the hardest slide was clue three. The reason why that was the hardest was because some of the questions where harder than others. But Carlee and I still finished.

Sick sentences

This Is my Sick Sentences. I had so much fun writing and making the sentences. I like writing and adding descriptive words to make the reader more interested in what I just writ. Such as (The ocean was calm and still and the fish gracefully swam through the deep blue sea). It took me a long time to come up with a descriptive sentence.

The Sahara Desert

This is my research about The Sahara Desert. I thought the article looked really long. I also thought that dinosaurs weren't really my thing. But when I read the article I found it really interesting. I also didn't take that long to finish the article. I learned so much by just reading one article.
